[Examples of improving Python] Learning Python with Codecademy

A man in his early 40s learned Python using Codecademy.

I wanted to make an app myself and became interested in programming

Unlike a long time ago, in Japan today, various computers such as personal computers, smartphones, and tablets are everywhere. That's why I use software that works on those devices very commonly, but at one point I said, "I usually use apps that are open to the public for free on the Internet, but simply becoming a user of the app. I don't have any skills. Isn't it the people who make these apps that have the highest abilities? " And I thought that I would be able to make an app by myself.

Learn Python with Codecademy

Actually, when I was a student, I was taught programming at university, but since then I have never had the opportunity to program at work or in my personal life, and my knowledge of programming has completely rusted. At first, I wanted to learn programming from books, so I bought a book, but I didn't feel like reading it because the explanation of how to install the development software was more than the programming itself. While searching the internet for a good book instead, I came across a site. It is an online learning site where you can learn various programming languages for free on a foreign site called [Codecademy]. Unfortunately, at the time I was using Codecademy, it was English-only, but I learned Python because I thought it would be "not only programming but also learning English." The reason I chose Python is that it is very popular overseas, and I often saw information that was of interest to me. At Codecademy, assignments are given at the end of each course, but it was good to be able to check the level of understanding immediately by solving simple programming problems. Also, if you learn programming from a book, you need to read the book, actually program it on your computer, and check the operation of the program you created, but in the case of Codecademy, you just go to your computer. Because it is okay, I was able to considerably reduce the time and effort required for learning.

Experience both English and Python

In the end, I was able to learn the basics of Python in about half a year, but this is because I was learning while I was busy at work or private, so if I can concentrate more, I think that the learning period can be shortened considerably. I will. It took me a while to read English on Codecademy, but now that I've done it, I think I've had a satisfying experience. Above all, it is an irreplaceable joy to be able to create what I thought "I wish I could do this" by programming.
