[PYTHON] Image processing engineer certification (expert) pass strategy

1. Overview

[Image processing engineer certification] 0 is one of the CG-ARTS certifications conducted by CG-ARTS (Image Information Education Promotion Association).

There are countless fields of application such as medical care, semiconductors, computer peripherals, automobiles, plants, and printing. Since the demand for image processing engineers will increase from now on, I think that if you are an engineer, you will be qualified to have a wider range of career choices.

There are two types of CG-ARTS exams, basic and expert, with different difficulty levels. The pass rate is about 70% for basics and 30-40% for experts, which makes it a little difficult for experts. However, I think that both are absolute evaluation tests that you can pass if you answer about 70% of the questions correctly, so I recommend that you take an expert in the end!

This time, I took the image processing engineer certification / expert. I will introduce the contents that are useful for the examinees to know, such as study time, reference books, and points to note in the exam.

2. Study time

I spent about two months studying. The exam date was the end of November, so I started studying little by little at the end of September. (The exam is held twice a year in July and November) At that time, I had little knowledge of image processing. When I was a graduate student, I used C language and Fortran for programming, and now I have a little bit of Python as a hobby. After that, I had some knowledge about statistics and deep learning. I had a job on weekdays, so I was studying hard after work. (If I continued to work overtime, I started studying at 23:00 and it was pretty tough lol) On weekdays, I continued for 2 hours at the most and 30 minutes at the shortest every day. On holidays, I was sharp and relaxed in the morning by sleeping soundly and cleaning the room. After eating lunch, I concentrated on working until the evening. I think I was doing it for about 4 hours a day. Assuming 1 hour a day on weekdays and 4 hours a day on holidays, 1h x 45day + 4h x 17day = 113h Therefore, the total time spent on the image processing engineer certification was over 100 hours.

3. Reference book

As a reference book, I studied these two books. [(1) Digital image processing] 2 [② Image Processing Engineer Certification Expert Basic Official Questions] 3 I've only used these two books, but I've read them to the point of being worn out. Let's focus on these two books without touching various reference books in the dark clouds. Since it is edited by CG-ARTS, which hosts the test, it is directly related to the qualification test.

I think this is the theory of how to proceed with studying.

  1. Read through ① and somehow understand the whole picture.
  2. Solve the basic exercises in ② (use ① to review any mistakes or concerns)
  3. Solve the exercises of the expert in ② (use ① to review the mistakes)
  4. In the problem collection of ②, try to solve all the wrong problems and the problems that you do not understand well.
  5. Finally, solve the [past problems] 1 on the website by measuring the time and being aware of the actual performance.

"Digression" Actually, the night before the exam, I learned that the past questions were published on the web, so I hurriedly checked the past questions in the morning of the exam day ... (sweat) Confirmation is important. is. The problem structure is almost the same as the problem collection in (2), but from the point of view of managing the amount, there is no loss in tackling the past questions, so let's do as much as time allows.

4. About the exam

I took it at the test site in Chiba prefecture. Since the test date was the end of November, I went to the test site in the cool air. I remember being surprised at a very beautiful hotel.

The exam time is 80 minutes for a single application (only one subject) and 150 minutes for a combined application (two subjects). For some reason, if you apply together, it will be 10 minutes shorter.

Since I was a single applicant for the image processing engineer certification (expert) only, the test time was 80 minutes from 13:00 to 14:20.

As for the impression that I took the exam, The volume is not too much and not too little, and 80 minutes is enough to solve it. I solved it in 60 minutes and reviewed it in the remaining 20 minutes.

So as a pacemaker ... ・ 30 minutes for questions 1 to 5 ・ 30 minutes for questions 6-10 ・ Review the remaining 20 minutes and apply to problems that could not be solved

It is recommended to use as a guide!

5. Precautions

I was wondering if I should write notes in "4. About the exam", but I thought that I might think that I was nervous after taking the exam, so I set up a separate chapter and said " 5. Notes ”.

・ About question paper The question sheet is a booklet that includes not only the image processing engineer certification, but also the CG creator certification, Web designer certification, CG engineer certification, image processing engineer certification, and multimedia certification (as of the second half of 2020). .. In addition, Question 1 (copyright), which is a common problem regardless of the type of test, is described on the first half page. Different types of exams have similar questions, so be sure to check the exam page you are solving before solving the questions.

・ About answer sheet The answer sheet is a mark sheet. As for the answer sheet, the copyright question 1 is a common mark column, and after question 2 there is a separate mark column for each test, so be sure to check the mark column you answer.

6. Result

I passed successfully! Five days after the test date, the test questions and breaking news will be uploaded to the website, so I knew the results, but after all, when I check the pass number, I feel relieved and happy.

With the copyright of the big question 1, only 1 out of 4 questions was correct and the result was disappointing, but he earned about 80% from other problems.

We hope it will help you to get your qualification exam. Thank you for reading until the end!
