Hannari Python 2020

This article is from Hannari Python Advent Calendar 2020 on December 18th. It's my birthday. I don't want to be so diligent at this age, but w

Who are you?

Hannari Python started as a Python community in Kyoto. Three people who met at a free beer drinking party called Ruby's Ruby Party held in Osaka hit it off, saying, "Kyoto is not a study group," and started the community the following month.

The goal is to be a long-lasting community, so I fixed the day to do it on the third Friday of every month. This will be held automatically when that day comes, without having to bother to discuss the day to do it, so I think it will be a long-lasting secret. In addition to that, the point is that it is operated by multiple people. The operation that started with 3 people is now 6 people. We are always looking for management, so we would appreciate it if you could let us know.

The event was held in the first year by renting a conference room in Kyoto City, and from the second year by renting a place from a company. We are indebted to Spookies Co., Ltd., Sansan, Mane Forward, etc. I am always grateful for your help.

The participation fee was 500 yen, and I had stocked it from the second year.

At the beginning of 2020, the event was held by renting the venue as usual, but the event in February was canceled due to the epidemic of the new corona, and from March it was moved to online.

The holding tool is a paid ZOOM. This is using the stock of the participation fee from before.

I'm Ogawa (@ogawahideyuki), one of the organizers of such a society.

How about after going online?

What happened when the event went online? Please check the two graphs below.

The number of events was about twice a month until after going online, but after that it has increased to a maximum of eight times a month. The contents of the event are LT meeting, hands-on, reading party, At Coder club, kaggle club, etc. The number of connpass members has increased rapidly as they go online.

Before going online, it was mainly from Kansai, but after going online, it seems that people from all over the country are participating, and you can feel the effect of DX.

Donated

Hannari Python Silver Sponsored by Pycharity, donated the participation fees it has accumulated to PSF. With this, if you have participated in Python before, you can say that you are donating to PSF. Yeah

I will send an Amazon gift certificate to LT

Also, when I started the community, LT did not gather, so when I was talking about that area, I said, "LT is quite difficult, but there is nothing to do," and "Let's pay for transportation." Therefore, we are trying to send Amazon gift certificates to LT participants. After going online, I was worried about how to do it because I couldn't collect money, but with the sponsorship of Folkwell, I can now send Amazon gift certificates again. It was. Mr. Folkwell Thank you very much.

In addition, sending Amagifu is also aimed at collecting interesting LTs and improving the quality of the meeting. So, even if you announced it elsewhere, please come and announce it in Python.

I think I can buy a programming book in terms of the target amount, but I haven't reached that point yet. I'm collecting tossed money around here, but it seems that the number of people who can do it is less than 10% of the participants, so there is no increase in income other than sponsor income. Sponsor income is increasing due to the increase in participants, so I would like to consider ways to increase the amount of money thrown. I would appreciate it if you could tell me if there is an easy-to-use platform.

Summary

With that feeling, Hannari Python has entered its fourth year since December 2020. I would like to continue to operate with the aim of becoming a longevity community in 2021.

I also want to aim for a route where Python is a little experimental and interesting. The reading party starting in 2021 will handle Business Data Science Textbook, and we will present a book to three students who can present it. If you would like to read this book, or if you would like to announce it, please apply. You can also comment in the comment section.

As for Python itself, the goal is to continue as I've written. That requires diversity. Diversity isn't enough yet, so we have to do a lot to strengthen this area. Also, I am trying to make a nudge-like approach by supporting various people. Part of this is giving an Amazon gift certificate to LT presenters.

I personally think it's nice to have a world where knowledge is open and people are happy with it, and I hope Python will eventually help with that. Thinking after the first year of operation has not changed as a basic route, so if you want to read the basic route of community management, I would be grateful if you could read this as well (that) I would be more happy if you could press LGTM before).

I would be grateful if you could also read Posting a local IT study session Advent calendar on my own blog.

So, thank you for your continued support.
