[LINUX] What is POSIX?

POSIX POSIX is a standard of specifications defined by the IEEE that "a UNIX-like OS should have". POSIX is the "standard that an OS meets in order for an OS to claim to be UNIX compatible."

"POSIX" was defined to maintain compatibility between UNIX-like OSs.
