I tried infix notation → reverse Polish notation → calculation

Preface

・ Because it is an oleore algorithm, the reasoning may be strange in the first place ・ Small explanation (read the source and comments) ・ Plunge welcome

Purpose

In the service I'm making now, there is a screen for the user to enter a calculation formula, so it was necessary to convert the infix notation to reverse Polish notation, save it, and calculate it.

procedure

  1. Filter for extra characters other than infix whitespace, operands (terms), operators (operators), and brackets (parentheses)
  2. Lick the infix notation from the edge to generate a syntax tree using a binary tree
  3. Arrange the syntax tree in an array from the deepest to the reverse Polish notation formula.
  4. Calculate reverse Polish notation formulas

Library and version

Java 1.8 Spring 4.x

Class to prepare

  1. Node class 2.Formula class
  2. Calculator class
  3. Test class

Implementation

Node class

Create a Node class for use in syntax trees and arrays.

Node.java

public class Node{
    protected Node left;
    protected Node right;
    protected Node parent;
    protected String data;
    protected Integer precedence;
    protected boolean visited;

    public Node(String data, int precedence) {
        this.data = data;
        this.precedence = precedence;
        this.setVisited(false);
    }

    public Node getLeft() {
        return left;
    }

    public void setLeft(Node left) {
        this.left = left;
        left.setParent(this);
    }

    public Node getRight() {
        return right;
    }

    public void setRight(Node right) {
        this.right = right;
        right.setParent(this);
    }

    public Node getParent() {
        return parent;
    }

    public void setParent(Node parent) {
        this.parent = parent;
    }

    public String getData() {
        return data;
    }

    public void setData(String data) {
        this.data = data;
    }

    public int getPrecede() {
        return precedence;
    }

    public void setPrecede(int precedence) {
        this.precedence = precedence;
    }

    public Node searchTop() {
        Node current = this;
        while(current.getParent() != null) {
            current = current.getParent();
        }
        return current;
    }

    public Node clone() {
        return new Node(this.data, this.precedence);
    }

    public boolean isVisited() {
        return visited;
    }

    public void setVisited(boolean visited) {
        this.visited = visited;
    }
}

A class that represents one node of a binary tree. It has a reference to the node at the end of the left and right branches and the parent node.

Formula class

Analyze infix notation, generate syntax tree, and convert to reverse Polish notation. The code was created after trial and error, so it's quite rough. I don't know the theory of graphs.

Calculator class

The array in reverse Polish notation is taken out from the beginning and calculated sequentially.

This is a class that simply calculates, so no explanation is needed.

test
