I tried to teach Python to those who have no programming experience
Conducted 4 times as of 20200809
Things to keep in mind
From the beginning
- We will postpone the discussion of types, variables, declarations, and manners.
- Anyway, have the program run and encounter an error
- Do not pack a lot at once (explain 3 lines for 15 minutes each time)
From the middle
(Is not yet)
Premise
workplace
- Manufacturing industry
- There are various things, and I and beginners are different companies, but the same team
- The team's mission is to support decision making within the enterprise with data science
I (the person who makes the foundation roughly)
- 7 years of programming experience as a student, 5 years of work
- 2 years of Python experience, 1 year of work
- 2 months experience as a programming instructor in in-house training
Beginner (person who does a rough analysis)
- No programming experience (rich in know-how regarding the manufacturing industry)
- I don't write Python myself, but I have occasional opportunities to run it in business.
- I've been told by a former company to learn programming, but I can't help.
What I'm glad I did
- The beginners were cheerful and friendly, and they asked me some questions every time and made me happy. It will be a motivation to continue.
Awareness
- It seems that there is no distinction between Python and R. I wonder if it looks the same without being aware of the file extension. I can't let you set up the environment ...
Finally
If you would like to teach someone who has no programming experience, or if you have tried it, I would appreciate it if you could comment.
Please give me some advice and awareness for beginners studying with me!
