[LINUX] Introduction of ferenOS 1 (installation)

Learn how to install ferenOS, a Linux distribution that you can use on a daily basis. It is also used as a substitute for personal notes, so it may be your own way of setting and customizing.

Advantages of ferenOS (subjective)

--Sophisticated design and operability

You can easily introduce Windows-like or MacOS-like display themes with the original application of ferenOS.

--Since it is a distribution derived from Ubuntu, it can be dealt with with the know-how of Ubuntu and Debian.

"If so, why not use Ubuntu?", But it may come in handy if you are not good at the Ubuntu UI. You may want to be able to easily customize the UI to your liking.

Disadvantages of ferenOS (subjective)

--Stability

Occasionally the application may crash.

--There is little information in Japanese

There are several commentary sites for volunteers, but the official site is English only. (As of August 2020)

Installation

Download the ISO file from the official website Get FerenOS and write it to a USB memory or DVD to create installation media. (Here, I will explain the 64-bit version of ferenOS that uses KDE Plasma for the desktop environment. By the way, FerenOS Classic that uses Cinnamon for the desktop environment will be supported at the same time as the mainstream support of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS ends in 2023. It seems that it will end. Also, it seems that support for the 32-bit version of OS will end in 2023 as well.)

After booting, select the "Install Feren OS" icon to start the installation. After launching the Calamares installer, set the language, region and partition. Set the user name and password after installing the OS.
