Overview

It seems that coding tests are conducted overseas in interviews with engineers, and in many cases, the main thing is to implement specific functions and classes according to the theme.

141. Linked List Cycle

The difficulty level is easy. Excerpt from Top 100 Liked Questions.

It's a problem that requires a basic knowledge of linked lists.

Given a linked list, determine if there is a cycle in it.

To represent the circulation of the specified linked list, use the integer pos, which ends in the linked list position (starting from 0). If pos is -1, it is assumed that there is no circulation.

Example1

Input: head = [3,2,0,-4], pos = 1 Output: true Explanation: There is a cycle in the linked list, where tail connects to the second node.

Example 2:

Input: head = [1,2], pos = 0 Output: true Explanation: There is a cycle in the linked list, where tail connects to the first node.

Example 3:

Input: head = [1], pos = -1 Output: false Explanation: There is no cycle in the linked list.

solution

Since there was a solution, which is rare, I implemented it based on the idea of HashTable and HashMap written there.

        hashmap = {}
        while head != None:
            if head in hashmap:
                return True
            hashmap[head] = head

# Memory Usage: 16.9 MB, less than 100.00% of Python3 online submissions for Linked List Cycle.

The element of head is assigned to the prepared hashmap until the element of head is empty, and the next element is assigned to head. If the element of head is in hashmap, it means that there is a circular point, so it returns True, and if it does not exist even after checking to the end, it returns False.

I also wrote it with reference to Two Pointers, which was in Solution.
